Gavin at 5 years old

• loves dinosaurs
• loves knights and knight play
• started pre-shool in January and has really enjoyed it
• has finally adjusted [2 yrs later] to having a little bother and has become such a good BIG brother
• asks so many questions... no answer is enough information for him
• wants to know that he is being good and will ask every two minutes "am I being good?"
• has started to read and is doing so well sounding out all sounds
• counts to 39 skips to 50 then to 100
• loves to play "which is more" when it comes to numbers, size, and weight
• does simple addition and subtraction
• loves to write notes and draw pictures
• likes to play in the dirt
• says skiing is his favorite sport -- only the steep runs not the flat runs
• can swim about 5 feet or until he needs a breath
• is afraid of bears, wolves, meteors, witches, black balls with lasers -- so he is now sleeping with us and makes Dashel go everywhere with him [i remember being like this with Dusty]
• wants to be a paleontologist, fireman, and astronaut when he grows up
• gets really shy around girls, but really likes them and wants to look at them especially older cute ones
• is very analytical
• wants to play store and makes dashel buy things from him with poker chips
• is very clean and takes good care of himself -- showers in the morning, brushes teeth, puts on deodorant, does his hair, ect.  He is very particular about it.  He is so good about washing his hands after using the bath room and such
• very interested in the human body and how it works ect.
• does not like to get cut and will vomit when he bleeds
• cries when Dashel gets hurt, unless he caused the hurt
• 41" tall [10th %]
• 37 lbs [20th%]
• has 20/30 vision [at his appointment the nurse said cover one eye and read the line... then she said cover the other eye and so he put his other hand over his other eye to have both eyes covered... I just thought that was so literal and funny:-]
