On Thursday around 1:00 pm I got a call first from my friend then from my mom to tell me that there was a tornado heading right for Laramie. My friend said that I need to get over to her basement now!! Since she lives next door, I just had to wake Gavin up from his nap and get him dressed then dash across the yard. I got there just in time -- cause on my way over I heard pinging and the sirens going off -- the power went out right when I got there. I was super worried about Brock cause he stayed at work and just kept working away. Since we had no power or anything we just stayed in the basement for a while. Gavin was scared sitting in the dark and wanted to nurse, but he did fairly well. I was freaked of course! Brock called and said he was on his way home and that there was a lot of destruction. So I met Brock at home and he drove us around to look at everything. Above you can see the damage the tornado caused to our house, but the rest of our area did not fair well. Two streets over there was major window and roof damage. Most of the victims were trees. The golf course that is down the block from us had most of the large trees flattened. It was so sad to see. People had trees on their houses and windows broken out. It is not as bad as it was in Windsor, but bad enough for us. The power lines were the other thing that took a major hit. You could see power lines down all around our area. We did not have power for 32 hours -- we froze all day yesterday!! We were so happy when the power came back on around 9:00 last night.
As we were driving around we heard on the radio that there was a second tornado heading for Laramie again on the south side of town and everyone should be in basements. So we gathered water, candles and a radio and headed back down to my friend's basement. There we stayed for a while not knowing what or when to come out. The second tornado stayed south of Laramie!!

From what I have observed, the tornado started in the imperial heights and walmart area. Traveled north across the field to the crow street area (two streets over from ours), down Grays Gable and the Golf course to the Amory, then over Richards park to the junior high and Reynolds street, maybe even Indian Paint Brush School and that area. People had their garages riped open and stuff flung on their yard and I know that one Gas station lost its entire roof.
As for us we were very fortunate -- one lawn chair got knocked over, which was extremely lucky since it was in our neighborhood.

I'm glad everyone was ok and that you didn't have much damage... and I'm sorry I didn't get to come see you and say goodbye :( Moving and cleaning took much longer than I thought it would and then we left RIGHT AFTER graduation. We miss you guys a lot already!!!
